My Birthday

Birthdays. I love them. I have officially concluded that my birthday is a fricken holiday. It is J-Day and it is amazing. I can do NO wrong on March 2 and I should be praised and adulated from sun up to sun down and the wee hours of the morning. I spend 364 days a year being hella humble and on March 2, I become the most annoyingly cocky (not confident) little lass.

2014-2016 were just two overall bad years sprinkled with some beautiful magic. I met my best friend and beau. I grew closer to my family. I definitely grew as a person and woman but those were all shadowed by the deaths of my dad and beloved grandmother.

2017 is my year. I am going to make the absolute best of it no matter what life throws my way. But hey Mr. Life, no funny business to test me, ok? Keep it simple. Keep it simple!

9 months ago I was perusing my favorite social media platform, Instagram and stumbled upon visual epicness. I saw Nazandin , Miguel’s girlfriend post something for her birthday that had me exclaim, “I’m so doing this”. I promptly held down the home button and power button on my then iphone 5 and screenshot that beautiful visual with the quickness. I vowed I would replicate it for my 35th bday and I held that promise with the help of J. Actually he pretty much did it all and I am so thankful to him. I have no words for how wonderful he is but I digress. We don’t do that sappy ish here!

Back to the photos. I struggle with the weight that I have put on. Not enough to do enough about it. I am not the happiest turning 35 but I always believe that we have to change the tune in our own heads and these pictures help me with that. My body is not perfect but it is still beautiful with all its curves, marks and bumps. It’s my birthday and I can boast if I want to!

It is about my birthday. The best day ever and I find these pics to be the best ever of 2017. Boom! I said it and since it is my birthday you all have to agree in the comments 🙂
