My previous post I raved about the fit of the relaxed utility pants that I scored from LOFT while in Florida and this outfit post echoes that but with these purple trousers instead. I often speak on inspiration and my motivation behind my outfit choices because I truly believe that your mood, personality and attitude dictate what you put on your body for that day. While perusing the French Connection website, I fell in love with this leather and faux fur jacket and I moved my mouse over to add it to my cart but to my dismay, they were out of my size. After pitching a mini fit at my desk, I realized I could easily replicate it by layering my faux fur vest under my trusty leather moto jacket and VOILA- this ensemble was created!
While it isnt as magical as this French Connection beauty, I like the fact that I was able to bring something I had in my mind to life. That is one of my biggest goals for 2016….. to not let my ideas reside in my mind only but to take action to bring them to life- whether they are good or bad. I am quite ok with failing but I am not ok with being stagnant!
Tonight I am attending my mentee Latisha’s graduation from the Year Up program in DC and I felt this was the perfect outfit for the reception. Year Up’s mission is to empower young adults from low income environments to transition from poverty to professional employment in one year. Latisha works very hard at everything she does and I am not only proud to be her mentor but am also honored that we can work together on her goals.
