Denim Skirt

On Saturday I attended the Other Festival in New York and definitely wanted to look stylish but also really wanted to be comfortable as well. I knew it would be a long day of mingling, taking notes, sitting, snapping pictures and walking, so I knew my outfit had to flow and not bind me in any capacity. Whenever I am looking for comfort and style, I almost always reach for wide leg pants or full skirts. This denim skirt fit the bill. The length and fullness kept me covered and feeling like I was wearing pajamas all day.

Although we are halfway through 2016, I am still aiming to create and adhere to a capsule wardrobe collection. Right now I own too many statement pieces and not enough items that I can build a wardrobe. Every morning I look in my closet and just cannot seem to put something together fast enough. Why? I have no cohesion. OH! And it is hard to find things that fit as well. The struggle is oh so very real.

I have always had a love affair with denim and if I could wear it to my wedding, I think I could. Heck leather as well. Oh and plaid. I digress……

This denim skirt is just like wearing your favorite pair of broken in jeans. But I wanted to look a little more girly and went the skirt route. I am really lusting over a couple denim and chambray skirts from various other retailers at the moment. More on those later….

I recently purchase my top from Romwe. It is actually supposed to be a dress but the asian sizing has the hemline gracing the VERY top of my thighs in an absolute inappropriate to wear alone way…. so its a top!

I am also really digging my crochet braids that Oby of Heart Print Style did for me. I am able to try so many different styles and I am loving the flexibility! But I hate synthetic hair. Like truly hate it. It tangles all the time and gets matted. Granted it is the nature of the hair but I still hate it. I am desperately looking for an alternative. If anyone wears crochet braids, please let me know if you have other hair that you prefer…. I am wearing the freetress deep twist and a review will go live soon enough!
